Located on the edge of a historic rural village in Frederick County, Adamstown Commons was a logical choice to extend zoning during the Master Plan process. Rodgers Consulting was successful in obtaining approval of zoning for 200 homes by addressing civic concerns. Rodgers Consulting worked closely with the community and, in the end, they embraced the melding of the project into the rural village fabric. Through a very thoughtful process, 50 percent of the open space was preserved with a context-sensitive extension of the historic village. Adamstown Commons was the recipient of the 2006 Award of Excellence, from the Frederick County Builders Association, for "Best Single-Family Project."
