Award-Winning Projects

South Market Center / Carroll Creek Site B - Award of Excellence, 2007, Maryland / DC National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Category: Best Urban Business District Office, 1-4 Stories.

Maxwell Place Condominiums / Carroll Creek Site C - Award of Excellence, 2006, Frederick County Builders Association. Category: Best Multi-Family Project.

Adamstown Commons - Award of Excellence, 2006, Frederick County Builders Association. Category: Best Single-Family Project.

Crown Property - "Smart Growth" Recognition, 2007, from the Washington Smart Growth Alliance (SGA), a coalition of six regional organizations, including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Coalition for Smarter Growth, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Rodgers Consulting, Inc. served as lead consultant and provided land-planning, zoning/entitlements, civil engineering, surveying and environmental consulting on this transit-oriented smart growth project.

Maxwell Place Condominiums - Monument Award, 2006, Northern Virginia Building Industry Association. Category: Innovative Infill Land Planning, Under 2 acres.

Springview - Monument Award, 2006, Northern Virginia Building Industry Association. Category: Site Land Planning, 51–125 acres.

Bancroft - Environmental Award, "Environmental Community of the Year," 2003, from the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association; Building With Trees Award, 2004, from The National Arbor Day Foundation.

Kentlands - Special Merit Award for Excellence, Awarded to Rodgers Consulting, Inc. by Maryland Governor William Donald Schaefer and the Maryland State Planning Commission for "a project which fosters a strong sense of community through planning and design."

Market Square at Kentlands - Smart Growth Awards, Smart Development Category, September 28, 2000, from Maryland Governor Parris N. Glendening and the Maryland Economic Growth, Resource Protection and Planning Commission.

Washingtonian Center - Smart Growth Awards, Smart Development Category, September 28, 2000, from Maryland Governor Parris N. Glendening and the Maryland Economic Growth, Resource Protection and Planning Commission.

Wyndcrest - Recipient of the first ever Smart Growth Award, "Achieving the Vision Award," from Maryland Governor Parris N. Glendening and the Maryland Economic Growth, Resource Protection and Planning Commission in 1996.


Award-Winning People

Mark Friis, Rodgers Consulting, Inc. - Champion of the Arts Award, 2008, from the Black Rock Center for the Arts, Germantown, Maryland, recognizing Rodgers Consulting's "tremendous support" and Mark Friis' many contributions as a founding member of the Black Rock Center for the Arts Board.   

 

Dusty Rood -2007 President's Award, from the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association. The award recognizes Dusty's "dedicated and tireless service to the Association and the Development Industry through his chairmanship of the Environmental Committee and oversight of Environmental and Green Building Issues that are a priority for the industry."


Rodgers Consulting, Inc. - Appreciation Award for 2006, from the Carroll Manor Fire Company, Inc., in recognition of Rodgers Consulting, Inc.'s continued support for the Carroll Manor Fire Company.

 

Bob Mochi - Associate of the Year Award, 2006, from the Frederick County Builders Association.

Dusty RoodJohn H. Carman Industry Leadership Award, 2006, recognizing his service as Chair of the BIA Environmental Committee, as a member of the Montgomery County Water Quality Board, and Forest Conservation Task Force.

Paul Bogle, Erin Burrows, Yuen Lee - Joseph C. Rodgers Community Service Awards, 2006, for their dedicated community service including building a new library in Guatemala, the United Way campaign, and the Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Walk.

Doug Wrenn - "Economic Development Leadership Award" for 2006, from the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development. Doug was recognized for his leadership in chairing the Germantown Task Force of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, and directing the Chamber's efforts in developing a comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan. His efforts helped bring about the recent ULI Advisory Panel study of the Germantown Employment Corridor, which has been publicly regarded as a huge success and has set the stage for the Germantown Master Plan amendment now under way.

Rodgers Consulting, Inc. - Gaithersburg Environmental Award, May 1, 2006, presented by the Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg, in recognition of outstanding efforts to improve our environment.

Erin Burrows - Outstanding Volunteer Award, 2006, from the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, for her leadership of the Chamber's Community Service Committee.

Rodgers Consulting, Inc. - Award of Honor, Fall, 2005, from Help the Homeless and Maryland-National Capital Home Builders Care, in appreciation for RCI's support and commitment to community, the homeless and the Homebuilders Care Foundation.

Rodgers Consulting, Inc. - Performance Under Fire Award, 2005, from Ausherman Development Corporation, for superior performance at public hearings before the Frederick County Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners for Phases I, II, and III approval of the Linton Farm.

Jim Rahochik, Tom Manning and Yuen Lee - Joseph C. Rodgers Community Service Awards, 2005, for their dedicated volunteer efforts on behalf of Germantown Meals on Wheels.

John Carman - "Lifetime Achievement Award," November 30, 2001, from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
